Who founded Israel - God or the UN?
The state of Israel has marked a significant milestone - the 60th anniversary of the UN General Assembly vote on the division of Palestine into an Arab and a Jewish state, with Jerusalem to be placed under international supervision. This took place November 29th 1947.

The UN Partition Plan was approved 6 months later May 14th 1948.  So henceforth the Jewish state was founded.

33 countries voted in favour of this, 10 against and there were 13 abstentions.  Great Britain abstained.  Immediately after the vote the Arab nations who had rejected the plan, attacked Israel in what became known as the War of Independence. Israel was established 3 years after the end of Adolf Hitler’s attempt to exterminate the Jews during World War II; 50 years after the first Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland. 1878 years after the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem; 1948 years after the Messiah walked the land.

So who is responsible for the establishment of the State of Israel The UN or God?

Speaking from a worldly perspective, it is technically true that the Jewish State owes its existence to the body of the UN; but spiritually speaking it was God who organised this timing. The UN was founded 25 years prior to the decisive voting on the Partition Plan.

After the genocide of the Jews during World War II, the UN voted in favour for the establishment of the Jewish state. God used the nations to bring about His plan.

They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them, they will plant vineyards and drink their wine and make gardens and eat their fruit.  I will also plant them on their lans”. Amos 9: 14-15
