Part of our vision at King’s Community Church is the ‘expansive’ value. This involves reproducing ourselves through church planting, locally and abroad. Thus, our aim is to reach our community, nation and the world. The “Kairos Course” is being introduced at King’s to help us on our journey in becoming such an ‘expansive’ church. Kairos is an internationally recognised course: It has been conducted in many countries and has been translated into many languages. The goals of the course are the formation of a truly biblical world-view and the mobilisation of the Church into strategic cross-cultural missions. Four main themes are discussed: Bibilical, Historic, Strategic and Cross-Cultural. Participants of Kairos are educated on reaching other cultures and they also learn from history about the spread of the Christian gospel. Ultimately, the course provides the tools to help people impact their community and the world for God. At King’s we believe mission is not the responsibility of a few, but a mandate for everyone. Reaching the world, by loving God and loving people, is the most important thing each of us can do! Currently the first Kairos Course is running at King’s, with another being held later in 2008.
