With Paster Paul Wagstaff finishing his time at King’s, he preached on “Making a Stand” recently. Quoting a key passage from Ezekiel 22:30, "I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap so I wouldn't have to destroy it, but not one could be found," he reiterated the point that Christians really need to learn to put God first and make a stand for Him too. He added that we so often look at the gaps but don't move to stand in them, whereas God wants us to stand out for Him and stand up for others. Phil 1:27-28. "Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;" To stand united, therefore, comes from a singular action which all of us must take ourselves. Waggy closed with the words, "Tomorrow belongs to those who are confident & courageous." |
