Banner for the Nations PDF  | Print |  E-mail
“He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth”.
Isaiah 11:12

This verse speaks of the totality of the return of God’s people; first outcasts of Israel, those of the ten tribes who were taken into captivity by Assyria, and then Judah and Benjamin, who were disperesed by Rome following the destruction of Jerusalem.  Their return to the land will not be seen as a casual or hidden affair, for it will be seen as if it were a banner raised by God among the nations as a demonstration of God’s saving power.

The prophetic writings of the Bible speak of a period of time known as “The Day of the Lord”, with its central feature the second coming of Jesus.  The Bible speaks of “birth-pangs”, a time of increasing upheaval and tribulation among the nations of earth.  Central to these events are God’s dealings with the nations of Israel.  The scripture also reveals that the return of Jesus is linked to an attack by the nations of the world on the land of Israel, and the siege of the city of Jerusalem.  (Sounds familiar?) What is the significance of this for us as believers living in Britain today?

It would be great if you would come a  nd join us as we pray, give thanks and honour God our heavenly Father, interceding for Israel and our land Great Britain.
