New Year Greetings to you all!
It was great to have Michelle and Ruth with us for our first Christmas in Cyprus and we were able to celebrate the New Year together as they flew home on January 2nd. The Cyprus Pound is now out and the Euro is in. Having just got used to adding 20% to the Cyprus Pound for a Sterling equivalent, I am now subtracting 25% to convert the Euro price to a meaningful figure - mental arithmatic has never been my strong point! We have been here just over 3 months and are feeling settled and are now in the process of applying to Immigration for a Temporary Resident’s Permit, which will last for 5 years. We have obtained Certificates of Self-Employment: William will be providing Computer Tuition and I will be providing a Home Help service. The New Testament Community Church that we have been attending have just welcomed a new minister, Peter Johnson, who arrived with his wife Pauline at the beginning of the year. We have been getting involved with church life, growth groups etc and are both involved with worship. I have dusted off my flute and William is playing classical guitar during communion. The weather is delightfully mild compared to the UK, but if we don’t have some significant rainfall soon then we are likely to have water shortages later in the year. May God bless you all in the coming year. Love from William & Roseanne |
